Welcome to Southern Field Retrievers where we specialize in the American Labrador Retriever.  We have a desire to provide a quality American Labrador with proven generations of Titles as well as genetic testing for the major issues common to Labradors today.  Our females and stud, Southern Field’s Garrett’s Shine, are “CHIC” certified and therefore meets all the requirements of the AKC Canine Health Foundation for breeders.  We believe in the Health of the dog first and endorse the health guidelines for breeders by the AKC.  To the best of our ability we try to insure the stud dogs have all required health clearances through testing or parentage. Our dog conformation is also special, approximately 65# -70 # female, who is proven to pass her conformation on to her progeny helps assure the puppy buyer males that will be 65# -75# approximately and females of approximately 65#-70# plus pounds at maturity.  Our stock come from the renowned Yukon Line originating out of Canada and are famous for multitudes of hunting titles and excellent pedigrees. The American Field Labs we are Line Breeding, are derived from the dominate ancestor of HRCH Sundee’s Yukon Jack MH QAA (call name Yukon) with more than 107 titled offspring. Yukon is the great grand sire of the well known Big Black Dude II, 2x Super Retriever Series Champion, 15 x Grand Hunting Retriever Champion AKC Master National Hall of Fame inductee & HRC Hall of Fame inductee. Dude has sired over 68 titled offspring.

As an avid deer hunter we use tracking dogs, and appreciate the attributes of the Yukon linage that ensures us we have an intelligent, driven dog which is something that cannot be taught.  Southern Field Retrievers stock comes from unbelievable accomplishments. These puppies are from GENERATIONS of AKC TITLED dogs and SOLID HUNTING STOCK with the genetics needed for and are proven in Hunting, Duck dogs, Bird dogs, Hunt Test, Field Trials, Narcotic dogs, Search and Rescue dogs and most of all part of the family.

Facility:

We whelp our puppies at our home as it allows us to keep a close eye on mother and babies. We nurture and care for mom so she can nurture and care for babies.  The puppies are given socialization and all the love and attention they can stand.  Frequent photos and videos are taken and emailed so you can see the puppy’s personalities and progress as they grow and share in their life with us until they are part of yours.
